SCI

SCI or Spinal Cord Injury is traumatic damage to the spinal cord, often times resulting in paralysis. Each year the reported SCI injury cases increases. In 2015, 12,500 new cases were reported with an additional 17,500 new reports in 2016 according to the 2016 study done by NSCISC (National Spinal Cord Injury Statitiscal Center). In the majority of SCI cases there is no recovery from paralysis. Although medical science is progressing there is no known cure. With no know cure the number of injured patients is accumulative making the need to integrate these patients back into an independent lifestyle apparent.
